Dr. Neves is a nationally recognized leader and teacher in music education with over 40 years of experience. Currently the Director of Youth Wind Ensembles for the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra and Music School, and the Co-ordinator of Music Education for the University of Rhode Island. In addition, Dr. Neves has served as an award-winning high school band director, fine arts administrator, accomplished saxophonist, conductor, clinician, teacher, and national and state music education association leader (NAfME, MENC, RIMEA, MassMEA). Dr Neves' accolades include being named a national Milken Foundation Educator, state Teacher of the Year, and a United States Department of Education "American Star of Teaching." After 41 successful years as a full time Music Educator in the public schools, Dr. Neves continues his passion for ensuring the finest music education experiences are available for all children. He is excited to bring this passion to music teachers, students, and schools everywhere possible.
